Kundalini yoga is all about awakening our personal power by learning to control and maximize our prana, our life force energy. The name Kundalini refers to the ancient depiction of a sleeping serpent that lies sleeping at the base of the spine, and when it is awakened, this serpent rises up the spine and penetrates each of the seven chakras, resulting in radiant physical health and spiritual enlightenment.
This practice uses breathwork and visualization to awaken kundalini energy. It ends with a chant, which you can choose to practice yourself or just listen.
THE ADI MANTRA: “ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO”
To close this practice, we’ll chant Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo together three times. This is the Adi Mantra, a traditional Kundalini chant that simply means “I bow to the divine creative consciousness within.” It is a reminder that there is a divine creative spark within each of us. We are all connected, and we all have the power to create the life we desire. If you aren’t comfortable chanting, you can just listen.
